Advocacy Services

At Neuro Routes, we believe everyone has the right to be heard, understood and meaningfully involved in decisions that affect their life.

Capacity, Best Interests and Advocacy Services

Our Advocacy Services provide independent, person-centred support to help individuals understand their rights, express their views and wishes, navigate complex systems and participate fully in decisions about their care, treatment, support and wider lives.

How We Can Help

We provide advocacy across a range of circumstances, including:

  • General and non-statutory advocacy – supporting individuals to understand information, communicate their views, attend meetings, raise concerns and navigate health, social care, rehabilitation and other services.
  • Care Act Advocacy – supporting eligible individuals who have substantial difficulty being involved in assessment, care and support planning, reviews or safeguarding processes.
  • Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) – providing statutory advocacy in specified circumstances where a person lacks capacity to make particular decisions, including certain decisions relating to serious medical treatment or accommodation.
  • Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) – supporting qualifying individuals under the Mental Health Act to understand their rights, express their views and participate in decisions about their care and treatment.
  • Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR) – representing and supporting individuals subject to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), including helping them understand and exercise their rights.
  • Self-advocacy support – helping individuals develop the confidence, understanding and skills to express their own views and preferences.

Our Approach

Our advocacy is independent, accessible and rights-focused. We adapt our approach to each individual’s communication needs and circumstances, particularly supporting people affected by neurological conditions, neurodivergence, mental health needs, disability and complex needs.
