Vocational Assessments

Our Vocational Assessments are designed for individuals who have sustained neurological and/or catastrophic injuries, are not currently in employment, and face significant barriers to returning to work.

This comprehensive assessment evaluates a client’s vocational potential following a serious illness or injury. We consider their education, training, employment history, and transferable skills alongside their current physical, cognitive, and psychological functioning. The assessment also identified barriers, examines the impact of impairments, including executive functioning difficulties, on their capacity to return to work or engage in vocational activities.

The purpose of the assessment is to determine the individual’s current functional capacity in relation to their education, qualifications, skills, and previous work experience. The findings provide a clear understanding of their vocational strengths, barriers, and future potential.

The final report includes a tailored action plan with practical recommendations to support the client’s progression towards paid employment, vocational retraining, volunteering, education, or other meaningful vocational activity, where appropriate.

Vocational Case Management and Vocational Rehabilitation Consultancy

Beyond our formal assessments, we provide expert vocational case management and vocational rehabilitation consultancy. These services are often sought to provide specialised support throughout a client’s journey through education, training, a return-to-work programme, or meaningful vocational activity. We are instructed by educational institutes, workplaces, solicitors, insurers, case managers, or individuals, and can work on both joint and single instruction routes.

Our team also brings experience of the UK visa sponsorship system, including organisational sponsorship responsibilities and associated workforce processes relating to the employment of overseas workers. This wider workforce knowledge can be particularly relevant where vocational planning, employment pathways, or return-to-work considerations intersect with an individual’s immigration or sponsorship status.

Vocational Assessments can be tailored towards:

  • Return-to-work assessments
  • Career pathway assessments
  • Transitions assessments – designed for young people with neurological and/or catastrophic injuries who are moving from school into further education, training, or the workforce, with or without an Educational Healthcare Plan (EHCP).
